In the new Microsoft Teams, you use the People App to create, view and edit contacts.

Note: If you cannot access the People App, you may be using an older version of Teams



Getting to the People App


Access through the Calls app


1. In Calls , select View contacts in the top right of Teams. This will open the People app, 


     




2. If it's not pinned, you can right click the app name to pin it.

     

     





Or search for "people" in the preinstalled apps








Add a new contact 


1. Click the New contact icon in the top left corner.






2. Type the name or phone number of a person you would like to add. If you're adding contacts within Competenz, the window will automatically suggest people as you type. 






3. Click Add. A new contact is automatically saved in your contacts. You can see it in All contacts tab in the left navigation.





    

     





View contact information 


Click on a picture or name of a contact from the list to open the profile card 








Edit contact information 


To edit a contact, right-click and select Edit in the dropdown menu. 

Note: CZ contact information are not editable in teams, you would need to send an email to [email protected] request to update the contact information








Add a contact to favorites


To add someone to your favorites, right-click and select the contact, and then choose Add to favorite in the dropdown menu.










Add a contact to category 


To add a contact to a category, select the contact and select More Options. Then choose Add category. This will allow you to create a category tag for that person. You can then find these groupings under Categories
