Scenario 2: When one user is on VPN and the one making the audio / video call is not, this error pops up.
WORKAROUNDS
Here are some simple steps to do as a workaround to the above mentioned issues.
Workaround # 1 - Disconnect VPN
- If you don’t require VPN to conclude your audio or video call, then you can just simple disconnect your VPN before you make the call.
- Click on the Forticlient VPN.
- Click on the Forticlient VPN.
- Click on the disconnect button.
NOTE: This will terminate your connection to P drive or TMS or any other internal systems.
- Then make your Microsoft Teams Call
Workaround # 2 – Make the call without VPN and then connect to the VPN
- If it is really required to be connected to the VPN for your audio / video Microsoft teams call, you can follow the steps on Workaround #1 and then connect to the VPN.
- Follow the steps on Workaround #1 (see above).
- Then connect to the VPN, launch the VPN client.
- Then login with your username and password (same as your laptop password) and then click connect while you’re still on the call.
Workaround # 3 – Schedule a teams meeting via outlook.
- If you schedule a teams meeting via outlook, you can join and hold that meeting without any issue even while on VPN.
- Go to Outlook -> Calendar -> New Teams Meeting
- The Join Microsoft Teams Meeting link will enable you to join the call while on VPN.
