Below are your guide for some of the changes in Microsoft Teams:



Call currently defaults to Audio


There were two distinct buttons for Video and Audio call from the old version of Microsoft Teams




However, in the new version, it now shows as a dropdown where the first option is Audio call. Click the dropdown icon to do a video call or you can use the calling shortcuts.





New calling shortcuts for Teams


Windows:

  • Alt + Shift + A : Initiate an audio call
  • Alt + Shift + V : Initiate a video call


MacOS:

  • Option + Shift + A : Initiate an audio call
  • Option + Shift + V : Start a video call



Contacts in chat


In the new Teams, contacts have been moved to the People app. If you do not have it pinned to your app list on the left side of Teams, you can find it from the Calls app.


1. In Calls , select View contacts in the top right of Teams. This will open the People app, 


     




2. If it's not pinned, you can right click the app name to pin it.

     

     



3. Select Add Contact at the top to add new contacts

    

     





OneDrive app now in Teams


The Files app in Teams is now the OneDrive app. You can access it from the left side menu of Microsoft Teams






For You:  The "For You" section, offers AI-powered file recommendations, ensuring timely access to the files user needs.


Add New: Create a new file or folder right from the OneDrive Home. You can also upload existing files and folders from your machine.


Shared View: View the files that you shared with team members as well as files that have been shared with you.


Favorites: Marking files as favourites for easier tracking is a feature that ensures accessibility across various Microsoft 365 apps.


People View: Helps users find files based on the people they collaborate with, even when they don't remember the file names.


Meetings View: Displays upcoming and past meetings, including associated meeting recording and shared files.


Quick Access: Use Quick Access to navigate to SharePoint sites you frequently work out of.
