We can schedule and conduct a webinar using Zoom while using the camera and audio facilities at the Foundry and Cannery meeting rooms.
- Schedule a webinar via https://competenz-org-nz.zoom.us/ - log in with your Zoom account using your work email address. You can follow the steps following these instructions -> How to Schedule Zoom Webinar
Note: A special license is required to create and schedule a webinar
- To be able to use The Foundry’s facilities, add the Foundry zoom room as a panelist. You can do follow these steps -> How to add a Panelist to a Zoom Webinar
- As the host, bring your laptop with you where you have your zoom application installed to the Foundry for easier management of the meeting.
- Ideally you want to start the webinar 10-15 minutes before the actual time of the webinar to give you enough prepare the room. Webinars can be started manually ahead of time.
- To start the webinar, go to https://competenz-org-nz.zoom.us/ and under webinars -> select the webinar -> click on “Start this webinar”.
- Before we let the Foundry join as a panelist, we need to MUTE and STOP your videos as host to avoid the echo. It should be a the bottom left corner of the app.
- After that, while in the Foundry conference room, go the Zoom Controller beside the left TV screen. Click on Join and key in the webinar ID and password code. Steps are here -> How to Use the Zoom Room to join a meeting
- From your host laptop, we can now assign the SPOTLIGHT VIDEO to “The FOUNDRY”. You can do this by right clicking on “The Foundry” camera feed and select “Spotlight Video”
- We then need to change the camera from the controller to use the one which is overlooking the whole room. We need to click on “Switch Camera” from the controller.
- When sharing documents or presentations or any visual aids, the screen sharing would need to be done from the HOST laptop.
ADJUSTING THE CAMERA
- The camera video can be adjust as preferred. You can click on the “Camera Control” button from the controller tablet.
- This will then show you the camera zoom In and Out option as well as panning up, down, right, left. There are also 2 preset views if you want reset.
